This is the cheapest it's ever been but it's not a great spec'd laptop. See the post below.
- 220 nits, 45% NTSC display. ignore any rep that tells you otherwise, the 300 nit 72% NTSC screen has never been seen yet.
- expandable memory and storage
if they ever give it the better display I'd jump all over the 4700u model.
They do have in 7000 series and that has been posted here multiple times. But even the 7000 model has same poor quality display nd around 250 to 270 nits of brightness but 60% sRGB only.

Lol why do they even bother selling it now with a delivery date in December

I ordered this the last time it was posted in September. It arrived earlier this month and overall I'm happy with it. The fingerprint reader is decent - sometimes it works and others it doesn't. The webcam is TERRIBLE. I like that there is a second M2 NVMe slot and memory slot and it seems easy to take apart to upgrade. It charges fine using my phone's usb C charger. I bought it so I can be mobile for work instead of always sitting in my home office. I haven't used it for that yet but I imagine that I will have to up the ram. My total was $597.39 but that included Windows 10 Pro, not home.

How is the screen? I've wondered about these Dell WVA screens.

I would report that it is fine. I have the brightness at max and it does ok. Out of the box the scaling was set to 125% so I lowered it to 100% and I think it looks better. My desktop monitors are two Dell 1440p TN panels so it is definitely a drop in quality. I bought this and a Lenovo Ideapad 5 at the same time and I'd say the Lenovo had a better panel but I gave that one to a client as I liked the AMD in this better than the 10th gen i5 in the Lenovo.
Got this last deal during July Amex $120 off of $599 purchase. Laptop build is great. Keyboard keys color and Backlit is a pain, as you need to deep look the keys to type. Secondly, the trackpad edge popped up. So contacted Dell support and sending the unit for repair. I added extra 16gb on the 2nd slot. My usage is only for work.

Is this Dell's way of saying the RAM is soldered?
