There are technical limitations to A) most graphics cards and B)bandwidth of most cables connecting to the monitors. Unless your using display port or hdmi 2.1 you aren't gaming faster than 4k at 30fps.

And lastly, Acer products are almost always bottom of the barrel. They cut every corner possible to get cheap prices. I don't know the quality of this monitor but the people claiming that it isn't adequate for gaming are full of sheet.

Going to throw this out there.

Everyone arguing about a $155 monitor. Talking about how you should get 1440p.. this monitor is freaking $155. Is it 1440P? No. Is it too big for 1080p? Likely. Will it still look good enough? Probably. Is it still one hell of a deal? Yes. If the picture looks like ass then you just return it. No big deal.

I don't know about seeing the pixels but 1080p @ 32" is a stretch. I picked up a previous (non-curved) deal on a 1080p 32" Acer and it too was a steal - mostly. Media looks great but text is only serviceable. It's not like I can't read it, but it is noticably pixelated. I adjusted it to higher font size and that has helped, but it means I've got a huge monitor with less text on it. I suppose that would be a fine solution for someone with sight issues. But again, media is fine. Since this is a gaming monitor, if the specs are legit and it's primary ustility will be gaming, this seems like a really good deal.

I grabbed the Acer 32" flat IPS 1440p from Costco for $225+tax. Upgraded from a high quality old 24" 1080p HPE IPS back-lit. The only thing I use it for is work and home stuff... It's great. Yes, $100 more than this but Costco backed and 1440p so super crisp and matte screen. The only downside so far is the audio is crappie... Even for conferences

It looks meh because it's not native resolution. I can assure you 27" 1440p looks great; It was what I was using before I upgraded to my 32" 4k. I also do photography and graphic design as well as gaming, and 1440p was solid for everything... 4k is a step up mostly if you want to edit photos 1:1

When I played Quake (back in my day), we lowered the resolution and texture quality to improve framerate (and walked 10 miles to school in snow up hill both ways). The idea that a game is better or more fun with a higher resolution is lost on me.

My current 32" 1080p works well for me, wouldn't mind getting a 2nd for this cheap.

This is a great deal for 1080p gaming and video watching. Although not "ideal" it still works perfectly fine for everything else. Unless you've been using a computer at 1440 or 4k, then it's perfectly fine. After going to 43" 4k, I can't ever go back to 1440 or 1080. But I'm not going to pretend like just a few short years ago I wasn't perfectly fine with it.

There's a lot of debate over 1080p at such a big size. What it comes down to, though, is how far you sit from your monitor. If you sit an arm and a half+ from this monitor I think you'll truly enjoy it. Any less than that and things won't appear very crisp.
