Nice sentiment and I like mom & pop businesses as much as anyone, but locals work at chain restaurants, too (and it's a bit much to take on a site like this where 99.99% of posts supports "big corporations").

Does the $5 of Walmart store credit fully make up for the loss in purchasing power from buying the Olive Darden card?

So I added a $25 card to my cart but don't see any reference to the $5 card in my cart or at checkout. Does the $5 card come in the same email with the Darden card?

If it was a physical gift card, I might consider it for a Christmas gift for office Dirty Santa or something. But e-gift card? Pass. I can't remember the last time I've been to any of those restaurants, and $5 isn't enough to lure me back.

Support your local restaurants, rather than corporate chains.

Of course not. For the quality of pasta and sauce Olive Garden uses, for something without meat, consumers can make it for $0.25/serving if not less.
Olive Garden is delicious. Their Alfredo sauce is better than any higher end restaurant I've been to. I'm not saying the quality is high, but the taste is really good. I also like those $5 take home pastas they have. I get two meals out of each one. Their salad and bread sticks are also pretty good, even if the quality is cheap. It's kind of like McDonalds or Taco Bell. The quality of ingredients isn't top tier, but the taste is delicious.

Right because nasty out of towners work at your local chain restaurants.

Offer works to get only one $5 promo per purchase of restaurant giftcard. If you buy more than one card, you need to provide different email while collecting $5 walmart credit.
