Does anyone knows how does the trade-in offer works? Do we have to send the phone first before we can place the order. It's not very clear going through their FAQ's. And above all is it worth to trade a OnePlus 6 in a very good condition?

They offered me $160 for a less than 1 year old mint OnePlus 7 Pro 256gb so not worth trading in.
For $899, you are still paying top dollar for a phone with arguably the bottom of the barrel camera in its category (flagship)
OnePlus was tolerable up until $699, but then they just tried to jump too high without actually working towards their camera software properly. May be they thought media will continue to give them the pass. Seems like HTC is about to be joined by a new neighbor in the city of oblivion
Unless you game a lot, the 90hz on the pixel 5 is fine and better for battery life as well. However, 120hz screen on the oneplus is really good.
Camerawise, the two are probably on par with each other, but the oneplus take better videos.
The camera on the Pixel 5 is way ahead of the Oneplus 8 pro. From a spec sheet the oneplus 8 is better, but the software processing of google especially on the pixel line results in amazing photos.

Not exactly. specwise the oneplus 8 pro is way ahead, whereas the pixel 5 is using same hardware that was used in pixel 2, but with software processing. this put the photos at comparable quality for the most part, with a slight edge to the pixel 5 for night shots.
However the pixel 5 is really terrible at videos. oneplus videos definitely beats it by a huge margin.
best in class and best all around for picture and video camera is iphone 12/12 pro at the moment.
I would wait for black friday for a cheap deal on the pixel 5...or actually the pixel 4a since it has pretty much the same specs at a much cheaper price point
