5 years for a clay bar? Thats way too long. Average is probably a year, year and a half even if u dont drive much. Not every part would need to be clayed if u dont drive much but still.

I would def put a real paste/liquid wax or a real sealant rather than a spray wax especially on a new car. But if you really wanted you can get turtle wax ice seal n shine and the ice spray wax. Seal n shine first then ice spray wax to maintain it. It will still last a good while on a prepped paint. I usually use spray wax for a drying aid. Ask away if u have other questions

Edit: Make sure to get grit guards for ur buckets.. autozone got some ok ones for $5
This is great stuff. Easy to apply and buff out and lasts a decent amount of time. It also won't melt in the heat and re-harden on the surface like some more actual wax-based paint waxes do. It takes me like 1/3 of the time to do a whole car with this stuff vs a paste\wax. Been using it for nearly 15 years now on all of my vehicles and bikes and this is a fantastic price. It's usually around $13 at Walmart, which is about the cheapest you'll find it.

Pick some up if you can. Also eligible for a Speed Perks rewards code, if you have any in your account from larger previous Advance Auto purchases.
Polish and wax are two totally different things and shouldn't be compared. Compound and Polish are used to remove defects in paint while wax is to protect and fill in defects in the paint, temporarily. NXT2.0 does have cleaning properties but it's not intended to be used as a polish.

Everyone likes different products and what we like, we like. However, I used NXT for awhile many, many moons ago. The problem with NXT is on certain color vehicles it leave a look like there is cling wrap on the paint. Kind of a hologram reflection. I'd say that Meguiar's Ultimate Polish is a _much_ better product.

Sorry, I just wrote down the wrong product. Should be Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax.

Meguiars ultimate goes on and comes off like butter. It's a beautiful product. Kind of like Frank's Redhot sauce but for painted finishes....I put that **** on everything Wink

Edit: The regular price is a little high but Walmart generally sells this for 20 bucks which is the cheapest I usually find it. An additional 7.50 off is a great price.

NXT on dark cars is awesome. Doesn't last a long time, but it will definitely make the panels look darker and richer Smilie

I've recently used turtle wax hybrid solutions ceramic sealant that blew my mind. The line isn't on sale, but I highly recommend trying. The prep is a pain, but result is very impressive. I park outdoors in sunny /dusty southern CA. Under messy trees. Last long (so far 2 months and slick and shiny), and car washes very easily.

Sorry for the very basic question, but JUST started getting into washing my car myself. bought the buckets, sponges, towels, shampoos....going to omit the claybar for now since the car is new, should i just get the Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 as the last step product?

Yes, wax is the last product you want to put on the paint to protect and seal it.
