I think it's probably just people that are used to the cheaper pre-Covid prices think this isn't a great deal

Don't change covid for everything. No reason the prices on these should be going to.

Increased demand due to an uptick in home hobbyists. Throttled supply due to COVID working difficulties? That's a guess but this market space is too competitive for artificially inflated prices so you can expect prices to be pretty efficient.

In any case, how good is this brand? Acceptable? I'm running low on white and need to buy more.

I'm currently using whatever microcenter had (inland?).

I have tried the black, white, orange, and glow-in-the-dark green. They seem to be okay filament. I haven't had too much problems. Mostly it is just me not getting things dialed in correctly. I was able to get the black and white at cheaper prices. There were 30% and 40% off coupons earlier that expired a few weeks ago so I got the black and white for $10 and $12 respectively.

i bought 5 rolls of these in the last few months and have used 3 within a few weeks. so far i have mixed feelings. 1 roll came with a punctured bag and snapped on me once. 1 roll was absolutely great. the third roll was completely horrible. there were strands that crossed eachother in multiple locations and snapped on me many times... i personally don't think i will gamble on this brand the next time. the few minutes here and there to fix snaps and whatnot adds up, and i'd rather spend a few dollars more to save the headache. that's my 2 cents at least.

I really like SunLu's PLA+. It prints about 10C hotter than PLA, but I get great surface finish and the filament is (subjectively) less brittle than PLA. Unfortunately, SunLu doesn't seem to be making it anymore.

I've tried cheaper PLA in the past but my results were spotty at best, with higher instances of clogging and poor long-term filament (one brand turned so brittle it was like dried spaghetti, despite being stored vacuum sealed with desiccant).

Thanks for the review. I would be mad if I had trouble with problems with the material. QA needs to be done on rolling and dry material.
