Looks like it would cost around $890 to build it yourself, picking roughly the cheapest parts I could find:

At $1150 I wouldn't touch it but at $800 it's at least a relatively good deal if it meets your needs.

I can't speak to the quality/value of that configuration. I'd pick a Ryzen 3600X at that price instead of an i5-10400.
Not even close to being in the same price bracket lol wtf.

cheapest chip is 5600X, $300. 3070 is $500. Good luck finding any at launch as well.
I get what you're saying but a common response for computers and parts is usually, "I would wait because X comes out soon and prices will drop!" No matter what time of the year it is lol

Is this worth buying for 700.00 in this day and age for a Xmas gift?

Anyone know if the coupon code works for any other item, or only this specific G5 desktop? Thanks.

Edit: Tried code on other configs but it wouldn't work.

A decent deal IMO and meets my needs but will wait for prices to drop. No big hurry.Cool

Memory is DDR4, 2666Mhz (not 3000 or 3200). Hopefully good latency.

Still a decent price, would go for it if I needed one.

It won't be worth it in 1 month. The next gen ryzens are coming out and so is the 3070. Unless you need a computer I would wait.

Who the hell said you had to get the next gen? When the next gen comes out and when black friday comes next month. These WILL DROP. Why buy this now when these will drop anyway within a month?

So you gonna tell everyone to buy RIGHT BEFORE black friday hits?

Not worth it for an enthusiast. Dell will almost certainly have a proprietary motherboard/psu. You'll be locked into this configuration - unless you want to sink a bunch more money into it down the road. For 800 on paper its a pretty good deal. But for similar money you could build something thats a lot more upgradeable and customizeable. This is for some one who wants to be able to do some 1080p/60fps gaming with graphics better than a console - Who isn't interested in building a computer at all - AND who has no plans on upgrading anything more than storage and possibly ram.

I have a variation of this and it's kind of dumb. Kinda crap PSU, turns off and bluescreens if you plug in too many USBs. Budget GPUs from Dell always. I'll just build one next time.
