Thoughts on this board? I'm on a ITX 470 with a 3900X/2080TI and needing an additional slot. Would love the opinion of someone with this board, or suggestions for an alternative.

I've been trying to do my research. I plan to upgrade to a 5600x from an i5 8400. I'll be watching along with you.
Idk about this board and I've had successes with MSI boards in the past but idk about their QC. I just returned a MSI H410 board due to it being DOA. Made me second guess my equipment but sure enough it was the board. I should have read Newegg reviews but figured it would be all good from Microcenter. Had all the same issues including the sticky residue under the board etc.
Ended up paying more for Asrock and booted up no problems with all the same equipment. Super frustrating. Also, not that I have anything against Made in China but when did motherboards start being made in China vs Taiwan? I've noticed an increase trend in Vietnam too. Guess times have changed. In any case I had a bad experience with MSI but YMMV.
Have this board for $139 with 3600 and it is pretty good for me, but a 3600 isn't pushing the motherboard very hard, I like the fact that it has a USB C 3.2 header, Hardware Unboxed has a review of this board https://youtu.be/HSY9rDsQgd4?t=59 they said some good things and VRM temp is good

MSI has been hit or miss I agree. That's why they had there return to honor board with the X570 MAG Tomahawk which is the only board of there I even considered (pre B550).
My computer came with an Asrock X570, I noticed it would randomly drop the wifi connection. Zoom meeting, gaming session really really annoying 2 BIOS updates later and it still isn't fixed.
Microcenter stepped in like heros and let me exchange the board and install the new one into my system for free. I initially picked out the Asus X570 TUF, but I decided on a Asus X570 Crosshair Hero VIII which cost me $100 more but I know I'm upgrading it to the new processors when released. This board is absolutely positively amazing so many connections, features, easy to use Bios, VRM temp, it's awesome. This gen I'm sold on Asus. Even comes with a really good warranty for piece of mind.

boards have been made in China for a while remember, when Foxconn moved to the mainland? probably have boards made in Vietnam to circumvent the tariffs. DOAs happen with any mfr - also the H410 is a low-margin product so QC is probably proportional.

I do admit Microcenter has one of the best returns and CS (at least out here). Sometimes I'm surprised at what they accept from customers. Some of their prices outside of CPUs which are one of the lowest anywhere have become competitive too. Good stuff, glad they are still around.
However, one word of caution when doing a return replace .. check your receipt! I was in a rush and did not check. For the DOA return part they did not give me my sales tax back. I mentioned twice to the cashier that the return had $20 baked into it so that the exchange needs $20 baked into that. Nope. So now I'm trying to get my $20 plus the tax on the other product back and avoid another drive lol
I have this board paired with a Ryzen 5 3600. No problems. But like the other person mentioned, it doesn't push the board that much being low-end power draw.
