I have a question or advice, I got a iPhone XS a few months ago through loyality. I going to trade it i think I can't find and iPhone 8 clean for cheap anywhere offer up Craigslist or Mercari . So I just said hell with it and trade my xs. What's better att or Costco?
I'm on the fence about this deal but I think if I end up doing it, I would only do it at an ATT store that will take my trade in in store. The only extra incentive to do it Cosco that I can tell is you get a $50 gift card for existing customers or $100 for new customers on top of the $800 bill credits but I am too anxious about my trades being "lost" in the mail or rejected so I would probably give up the GC for the added peace of mind.

Basic question:

I realize this is an in-store deal only, but it is limited to stock on hand or can you order the configuration (color/storage) you want and have it shipped?

I have the same question. I am currently on Cricket Wireless prepaid plan which I believe uses AT&T network. Not sure migrating lines from that to AT&T's post paid service will be eligible for this deal. Any confirmation may help. Thanks.

You also don't pay activation fees which could be significant depending on # of lines.

I wonder if Costco will take the trade-in device in store or if you have to mail it in. After all of the horror stories with AT&T mail-in trades I'd like to avoid that.

Edit: looks like you have to mail it in. Ugh
Over on Reddit, I read that phones bought outside of AT&T, such as Costco and Best Buy, the trade-in can be turned into AT&T corporate stores in person. Haven't verified myself yet. But, yes, I'm hesitant on upgrading with trade-in through both Best Buy and Costco exactly because of potential issues with the 3rd party mail-in concerns. I don't even know why people who buy directly from AT&T decide to go through the mail-in trade-in when they can just go into the store and get it over with.

$75 if only 1 line. Goes down a little for every additional line you add.

I asked a local AT&T on Saturday about buying an iPhone 12 from Best Buy and told me to follow the rules from Best Buy, which pretty much states that you should trade-in via mail (online).

Pretty much sealed the deal for me, went to an AT&T authorized local retailer and bought an iPhone 12 from them and traded it in on the spot so I wouldn't have to worry about mailing and hoping it won't get lost or ineligible somehow.

Make sure to buy iPhone 8 which is grade A other wise if there are any moderates scratches on the screen or dents on the back or sides of the phone there are higher chances it will get only $350 credit. Even $350 credit is good but $800 credit is lot more better.
I'm planing on doing the same and had a similar question. I'm looking for 3 iPhone 8s under $200 on eby

Hard to find a good condition iPhone 8 for under $200. I wouldn't risk not possibly getting a pass on the trade-in condition by trying to save ~$30 per phone or so.

Wait how does that math work out?

If you buy an iphone 8 for 200 or even 300, you get 800 (att direct) or 900?(costco), so even paying more for an iphone 8 and getting only 800 back you are still coming up 500 per phone.

I called every Costco around me, all were out of iPhone Pros. Out of frustration, I called Sams and found this link.....

NOT sure why this thread below is not getting more attention?

COSTCO = $100 Gift Card per line
SAMS = $250.00 billing credit "Per Line" over 25 months

Sams deal IS Stackable with $800.00 device trade credit
