If you haven't heard, for the sake of the sports game industry it's probably a good idea to not buy this year's 2K basketball game. Literal casinos in the game, micro transaction ridden with little changes from the last decade of games, and your ultimate team doesn't transfer to next gen (meaning of you spend any money on a team now its a waste). A game I CAN vouch for though is that Star Wars squadrons. Pure fun, no MTX, and no plans for post-launch content. You know what you get and pay for up front

Edit - would also like to comment that a lot of these are EA games and either already are or will be coming to Xbox's Game Pass Ultimate in a couple of weeks. I'd recommend waiting and trying out the base games through there, because the DLC will inevitably go on sale again. Still a +1 on the post overall for aggregating the discounts

This is the first I have commented about 2K, and I haven't bought the game since 2K18. I didn't say the game was irrelevant, I'm saying that it's low effort and greedy and people shouldn't buy it this year. I'll keep commenting to spread awareness, not because I care about relevancy.

No. They aren't using smart delivery. You have to buy the series X version separately and it has a higher price point.

As another person pointed out, 2K isn't most consumer friendly company in the world.

2k21. I took the plunge after my 1 year boycott of 2k19. Biiiig mistake. It is 99.95% identical to 2k20. Wasted $60. What's more, wasted a hundred hours to grind my player to a respectable level. Not a single worthwhile change from 2k20 aside from better dribbling and far worse shooting.

2k felt like the wave of hate from their vc has abated somewhat so they turned the torture dial back up to 10 this year.
