Brickseek info on store price for this item is really wrong. It said several Targets around me had it for 59 but when you go to the store, it's not 50% off.

Only compatible for MAC?
It's formatted for mac, but they've got a driver to make it work with windows, or you could just reformat it.

My Passport Ultra for Mac is formatted for Time Machine and ready to deliver plug-and-play storage out of the box. With WD Discovery™ software, you can also work across both Mac and PC. We provide a downloadable HFS+ driver for Windows® 10, 8.1 or 7 to enable you to read and write to your My Passport Ultra for Mac drive without reformatting.
Compatible with both pc and Mac, I was looking really hard at this for a few days and decided it's slow and I can't shuck it. Bf is right around the corner and we should see 4tb for about $50
Modern western digital portables have a circuit board directly to USB. Can't be removed since there's no underlying SATA.
That's what I found out on mine, but WD is usually really good at RMA if one of these fail. Just sent in a 4 TB that had failed in ~a year out of 3 year warranty; that I had got from $55 amazon price mistake. They give you discounted shipping at their rate (<$5 UPS) and make it fairly pain free.
In contrast had a 4 TB Segate Portable (st4000LM016) start to fail... Shucked it, removed SATA to USB conversion board, and still running it to this day with few issues.
TLDR portable drives fail a lot with movement and unstable power (no external power adapter).

Nope, only reason I didn't pull the trigger 2 days ago when I found it
