Been at this price for a while. I got it around prime day and am thinking of returning it, as it's much slower than promised: more like 1000~1100 read / 800~900 write as opposed to what they say

"much slower" ? What does that equal in real world time 1-2 seconds?

I bought this on prime day as well. I am getting the advertised speeds. You must be having a bottleneck somewhere else or thermal throttling? I add a heafty heat sink to all my m.2 nvme drives. This one gets pretty hot compared to others I have.

sounds like you stuck it in a PCI-e x2 slot or have an alignment issue

Anyone else besides me having cloning/booting issues going from a SATA 3 to M.2 (internal and external clone)? Tried several WDs but have a Samsung in route. Works as a data drive fine but will not boot to the new drive even though it is selected in the boot menu.
Seems like a driver/files issue. But I did update the drivers before cloning.
Samsung seems to have a higher success rate at cloning with Samsung software according to users so I will try the test unit next week. Then again it may be a hardware issue with my 590 p0066/TBD. HP and WD forums are no help. They just say new install which I may do and then make it a data drive after the test.

My ADATA 800's still working. Recent convert to the Black drives at WD. So far they work fine but can get very hot on long transfers like cloning in outside cases. Only using open cases at this point in time.

all I can say is 1. a couple of years ago I tested out Samsung 970 EVO and was getting above 2K read/write speeds and 2. I decided to go with the ADATA SX7000 due to price when a deal was posted at the time. This drive gets better speeds than SX7000 but not much better.
