Haven't used the MX Ergo but my M570 trackball failed just right outside of warranty. The left mouse button developed a double clicking issue and will release itself when I hold it down. It was a fairly common problem on those trackballs. There are many fixes on YouTube but I actually stopped using a trackball because it also caused my thumb to cramp from daily use.
Both mice are not really ergonomic, but Logitech just spends a lot of money on marketing and influencing "journalists" to make people believe that they're some super ergo equipment that you just have to have. There are no scientific studies that show that these are better for your hands or wrists, though it probably makes most people feel good enough about their decision. Think of it as virtue signalling for ergonomics.
They also managed to spend enough money to make most people think that they make quality products when they have some of the worst quality control that I have had the misfortune to experience. I would say as high as half of all the Logitech products I've owned have a manufacturing defect or failed in under 2 years.
I have the mouse and the most annoying feature is that the 'switch device' button is in the bottom of the mouse. So I have to flip it evertime I have to switch machines.. Logitech support said that there is no other way to map the other buttons. Logitech has the trialthon mouse which at $38 is better because the switch is right behind the wheel.

Hate that the button is on the bottom of all the Master mice! I keep reading that supposedly with Flow you can map the mouse to switchover with the keyboard physical button at the same time but for the life of me I can't get it to work.
As for flow, it was easy to set up but I hated it. There sometimes was lag when it switches between devices and seemed a bit buggy.
I dont know what OS you're using but if you're on windows, try mouse without borders. It's basically the same thing as flow but it's a lot cleaner and there's less bloat in the software.

It's a shame they don't make a black Mac version.
I wish Apple made their own wireless illuminated keyboard, I like their layout better. And maybe they would fill in the hollow bottom of the keyboard in with batteries since it is wasted space anyway...and weight is part of the design.
