I own a Staples chair that looks extremly similar and it has been going strong for almost 10 years now... actually showing no signs of wear with 8+ hours of use a day and is the most comfortable chair I have ever owned.
In a discussion elsewere someone said they had bought a bunch of these for an office, and in a short amount of time they have had several of them become unusable because mesh was tearing, etc.
So I am not sure if quality has gone down, or its because I take better care of my stuff than the WWE free for all that some office environments can be.
For reference I am 6' tall and about 195lbs so I am not a tiny person.
I almost feel its worth this price even as a gamble, because I have no way to validate that products 3x the cost or higher are any nicer.

Edit: Looks like Staples does NOT add the chair if you add either of the protection plans using the pop-ups while "Add to Cart". However, if you add the chair to cart and decline the popups for adding the protection plan, the chair gets added to the cart. Then you can go to "View cart" and then add either of the extended protection plans while in the cart and before starting the Checkout process. This is even more weird and not something a customer might figure out intuitively.

I feel like it's a moral obligation at this point to warn people away from the Hyken. It's a godawful chair. I bought one in 2016 for $300. I used the Hyken as an office chair for about four years. The piston failed in that time, which I ended up having to replace. The mesh is basically that scratchy material from Better Off Ted.
The worst thing though is that it gives me back problems to sit in it for more than a couple of hours. I would go to work all day, sit in a Herman Miller Mira 2 for eight hours, come home, and sit in this Hyken for up to 2 hours at best, and stand up feeling awful. I'd go to sleep and be miserable.
It wasn't until Covid, and I ended up borrowing my office chair from work, that I realized the source of all my back problems was sitting in my shitty Hyken chair for a couple of hours every day.
I've been sitting all day in this Mira 2 since 2017. Literally never had a problem. It doesn't scratch my legs if I sit in it with shorts on. It doesn't cause me lay on the ground in agony because my back hurts so much. It's so comfortable I reorganized my office space so that I can use this one chair for both my personal and work spaces.
I don't know who they made the Hyken for. Quasimodo maybe.
