I have this stand and experience the same issue as you (have a 12" slider - the 65lb Bosch Glide saw). What I found is that the saw itself had slide down towards the right side of the bracket (between the two poles, requiring A LOT more effort to open it). Once I repositioned it in the center between the brackets and tightened it back up, it was much easier to open.

Fantastic deal and stand. I was waiting on a sale but got impatient and ordered a factory blemished from DTO for $189 a couple weeks ago when they had $50 off $200+.

The stand is so awesome that I'm not even that upset I could have gotten it for $99 at HD. I felt it was still a steal at $189 - $50 (plus bought something small I needed anyway to get the $50 off).

It's a no brainer at this price.

In my experience, No. Wasxeyeing a light a couple years ago. It said new lower price, and I kept hesitating. It ended backmup at full price after a while.

This is a real deal... I have the older version bought in like 2005/7 at 99 bucks and it was a deal then with the plate vs the orange things for mounting the saw but it is a robust easy to move system. The BIG wheels (old ones in mine slightly better) make a big difference vs smaller ones. Going into houses up steps doing Crown molding, this is the one to buy.. Amazing price for quality deal. And when you stand it up for storage, it takes up a very small but stable foot print.

I bought this two years ago. It's entirely worth a Benjamin, but it does have flaws for getting precise cuts. The rollers are nice, but the mechanism that holds them has excessive slop, and as a result the roller is rarely on the same plane as the miter saw table. This causes only one point to touch the workpiece and you have to hold the board square. Same goes for the stop block attachments.

It's great for measuring tape and cut for framing or slower work, but not my favorite for repeated cuts at a precise length. I'll be building a miter station and putting my planer on it when not mobile.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting all year for this deal to go up. I have the Wen miter saw stand with wheels and it's not the easiest stand to use or move around.

Got this stand from last BF, and love it. Folds up great and the wheels have held up. One thing is I'm 180lbs and I have to push my whole weight down on the handle to get it to lock when I'm opening it up. Otherwise, the weight of a 12" sliding was super heavy for me to push down without me dangling.
