Just saying, if you're thinking about it, but overthinking because burn in, just get it. I've had my C8 for two years now. I fall asleep with the tv and it's done the pixel refresher twice now. Not the slightest sign of burn in. Now, I did see image retention one time after I fell asleep watching the news (I don't watch the news, usually.) I game a little, my nephew has used it to game a lot, watch cable, watch 4k blu rays, etc. It's a great tv
For anybody wondering the all state protection plan DOESNT COVER BURN IN .
This is the best deal.

Pulled the trigger! 1439$ after tax... bit worried about burn in but hearing lot of good things about newer models. Also though of getting thru best buy and buying the 5 year geek warranty but didnt wanted to spend 1900 in total. Fingers crossed! Will run the pixel refresh more times if needed.

The Allstate protection plan will not cover burn in. This is laughable for an Oled TV. Now the TV itself is great and a lot of people have been happy with their purchase. But Allstate seems to be going for the same stunts they pull on their other coverages (ex. Acts of god as in flood, earthquake and such).

no love for the 48; although they did add the hulu gift card to the 48.

Hello! I'm moving into a new apartment in mid-January. Does anyone know the cadence of price reductions/upgrades for these TVs? Should I purchase the LG CX 55" now or can it be expected that by January the price will have dropped below today's early Black Friday day deal? Thanks in advance for the tips!

Possibly. Consumer Reports says historically November, December, and January are the best times to purchase TVs. Realistically, good prices should all be within $100 or so over this span for a TV like this. It's possible this TV will be slightly cheaper around Black Friday or Cyber Monday. This year could be different though. The good thing about Costco is they will adjust prices if the cost goes down within 30 days (they don't match other retailers though). If you want this deal (assuming it doesn't go out of stock), wait until closer to Nov 22 when this promo ends (or maybe early next week so that gets you through Black Friday and Cyber Monday). Costco is usually good at price adjusting, even to their Black Friday prices.
