Pro Tip: When buying Lego from amazon, be sure to select gift shipping so they put it in a suitable outside box for delivery. It will give you a better chance of getting a pristine box that doesn't have labels all over it.
Thanks OP.
Yes but careful going crazy here on the Lego investments. Many of those Lego sets that those articles are referencing like the big Taj Mahal were from 10 years ago. A very select few have appreciated in value like crazy and you'd be hard pressed to get that kind of return again. Lego has caught on and refuses to let the resale market take their potential for profit. They have increased the production of non standard sets so that everyone that wants one can essentially get it, thus diluting the market and potential for a good return on resale value.

They were pushing 150 on ebay consistently when they were all snatched up off the shelves
Cool thanks for your reply .. when do you think they will retire this set? Do you think they are getting rid of their stock or they just recently restocked?

Great question... I'm not sure, but it seems like it's been restocked now in recent months. I've seen this set on same a couple times but in recent months after being unavailable for some time. Curious if anyone else had any insight.
This is interesting. My wife is not any sort of lego fan. My boys will be getting into these size legos soon. She LOVES Friends though. Kinda wondering if this might be dink, or if it might be a perfect sort of surprise gift that she might enjoy building WITH our older son. hum.....thoughts?
Is it like a Beanie Baby thing?
Never knew there was a big aftermarket for Legos but def interesting.
Some lego sets have appreciated in value more than gold in the last two decades or so https://www.cnet.com/news/lego-bricks-outshine-gold-bars-as-investments-report-says/

Compare to Target where you get a $10 gc at the moment plus 5% off with a red card...
edit: and can probably price match to Amazon and get the $10 gift card as well if you're lucky
