It's crazy that phones with a tiny screen are like $1200+ now and 75" tv's are only $499. Blows my mind a bit when I see prices this low.
Some smart TVs run android just like phones, and can do about the same thing as a phone can. You can buy a 75" Samsung TV for much less than a new Samsung phone, and the tv does about 95% of what a phone does... Just less convenient to carry around lol.

I think the price difference is mainly because phones are way more ingrained into people's lives. Most people can barely set down their phone, or look up from them... it's almost like a new body part to some people, or an addiction... So they can charge almost any amount for them and people will pay it.

I bet if they did some price fixing, and all phone companies agreed to only sell smart phones for $3000 or more, people would still pay it. They'd come out with some crazy long payment plan and people would buy them.

And even crazier the how low the price is when you consider most $499 huge 75" tv's will ship across the country for free. Its surprising they can make money off them. I'd be curious to see how much one of these costs to make.

Ok I'm done rambling on, thanks for reading, and now you can finally mark my post unhelpful. 😂
I have a 49" 4 series and just upgraded to a 65" 6 series and the difference is insane.
Both are good tvs and I honestly love the 4 series for the past 2 years but seeing the 6 makes me not want to go back. There is much more ghosting on the 4 series, the colors are not nearly as vibrant, next to each other its night and day.
But in all seriousness $500 for a 75" tcl is a hell of a deal. Can't speak for the android version though as mine are both roku which have been great.

I just put this up yesterday. My observations:

The picture looks great. I went from a 55" 4K TV without HDR to this one and am very pleased.

The Rtings calibration didn't look right to me, and it was on a tcl roku tv with slightly different settings options. I followed a Consumer Reports guide on pausing certain scenes on the screen and adjusting things one at a time until it looks right to me.

I thought I would have to move my wall mount up when going from a 55 inch to this 75. Luckily even though smaller TVs have the mounting holes centered on the back of the TV, these are low near the base of the TV, so I did not need to adjust my mount on the wall.

I just got this TV delivered today and set it up in my living room. I get a lot of sunlight from multiple windows around the room (although no sunlight shining DIRECTLY at the TV). Using the low power preset with brightness at 60 and backlight on eco I had no issue seeing the dark scenes in 28 Days Later while watching in the middle of a sunny day. The TV at those settings is almost TOO bright at night with some room lights on. I'd be interested to know what the measured SDR brightness is. I only mention this because Rtings measured the brightness of the 2019 TCL 4 series at around 180 nits (calibrated) which is very low. I have a 2019 Hisense H6570F (65") in my bedroom which Rtings put at 318 nits max non-calibrated SDR brightness and this TV is A LOT brighter than that TV (I have the Hisense on normal power and backlight with 60% brightness I think).

Looks like I won the panel lottery as well as my backlight is pretty uniform and I have no obviously light bleed or dead pixels.

On a side note, I was using the Sideclick attachment on my Firestick remote previously and it fits perfectly on the remote for this TV.

Picked up the TV today and here is how it compared to the Samsung 75" for $529:
1. Brighter picture / More vibrant colors (not sure how accurate but the picture popped compared to the Samsung.
2. The Android TV interface is awesome, so fast and snappy. The samsung is very slow in comparison and it felt like it lagged quite a bit.
3. The only 2 things I miss from the samsung are the Airplay and the free TV .

How were you able to adjust the backlight? I don't see any option for that only brightness, contrast etc.

When's the last time you sat at home with 2 tv's side by side? Maybe to compare but your comment makes no sense in the practical World. In all seriousness, unless you're a fanatic with to much money go with the best buy in your size. Android is better than ROKU and will be around long after ROKU is dead.

How are you all liking this tv? My earliest delivery date wasn't until next week so I'm still waiting. Loving it? Returning it?

Got the 55" version, and honestly for the price it has outstanding picture quality. Android tv works fine and 4K YouTube plays with no issues. Slight artifacts when watching fast paced content but only when you are looking for it.

I'm very happy with mine. It's replacing a projector in a living room with a lot of light pollution so of course the picture is substantially better than that, but honest I'm really impressed with the quality for $500. It's surprisingly bright. The interface is pretty snappy overall as well with only a little lag here and there.

I honestly can't find the setting I was talking about so maybe I got confused with my other TV, no idea. It seems like the only backlight setting is the on/off for dynamic backlight.

Just set this up and it's a great tv. Picture is great and android user interface is awesome. For $500, this was truly slick!! I played with some of the settings in movie mode and the picture is fantastic. Do what's best to your eyes but I recommend movie mode as a starting reference.

Did you calibrate the fourth series? Cheaper models need calibration more than six would because why would they invest in it

Yeah there should be two screws at the back you have to take off and then you can screw your wall mount pieces on both sides tightening the top and bottom.
