SHR always uses one drive with the largest capacity for parity, so putting one 14TB in won't get you anything more than what the Synology has now. You will want to buy at least two 14TB drives. Replace one drive, wait for SHR to rebuild, then repeat with the other new drive. You will end up with 2TB more than current. If you were to replace all four 12TB drives, you would end up with 6TB more than current.
The golden question, what's inside?

Extended returns in effect if you're on the fence.

Purchases made October 13, 2020 through January 2, 2021 have an extended return period through January 16, 2021
These won't get lower. BB does this every year, they offer the BF pricing a few weeks ahead of BF and then again at BF. I buy their BF special drives every year and upgrade both my servers and sell off the drives from the year before. It's the exact same scenario every time. This year it's the 14TB. Last year was the 12TB, 10 before that and 8 before that.

Is it it true that the actual usable space on these 14TB drives is actually only 12.7 TB? I saw some review on BB site for this item, so just wondering.

I am going to be getting this drive for my XBOX ONE SERIES X console, question is for those who already have it, does it make any clicking sound when idle? That is the issue I had with my 8TB drive of the same model when I had it connected to my XBOX ONE X console so dont want to get this drive if its the same issue..reading the reviews on Best Buys site, someone posted that it makes a idle non stop clicking sound so dont want to deal with that again

Depends on your power supply. Mine were working fine in my PC with a 7 year old power supply. It starting giving me issues so bought the really expensive Seasonic 750watt platinum power supply and the drives wouldn't work. Had to do the 3.3v mod. My son needed a new power supply so figured I would just pass mine down to him and I bought another expensive power supply but went with a different brand. Same issue. This was 2 months ago, so when you hear people say it is an issue for those with older power supplys, that was not my experience. Not sure about those putting them in a NAS. From what I've read it seems most don't have an issue.
I just lift the pin and cut it , problem solved

These are Easy Store models, the ones I ordered where My Book. They have different enclosures. These have the curved front and mine had sharp rectangular corners. If I tried that sending mine back, I would probably get busted with Amazon.

Not sure how you've tried but I was able to do it this way.

1. Go to checkout , not the cart but actually go to the checkout page. From there, you may be able to switch to shipping.
2. If that doesn't work, complete purchase as a pickup order. Then go to the order and update it by changing to shipping.

Both methods worked for me as I picked up 2 drives. Good luck.

Was pretty bummed I missed those 12s during prime day, though my bank account was okay with it, lol. The bank account has since recovered and was able to grab one of these for pickup later today. Wishing I could grab a couple more, but we still have black friday and countless other deal days ahead of us Smilie

Just scored 2 at my local BB. Both WD140EDFZ's.
Is WD140EDFZ the white one or the red one? Thanks!

always like that, I guess technically our OSes don't measure in TBs, but TiBs, hopefully this game stops someday
