^This thread was form 2017. Lots of owners are happy with these units. Does this guy even own the device? Who knows...
^The most recent comment is from 10-27-2020 02:30 PM - which means Linksys still HAS NOT FIXED THESE ISSUES. Does this guy even read the comments in the thread? No, otherwise, he wouldn't have posted such a dumb comment.
I am pretty sure all 3 are identical units so all 3 could act as routers, not a router and extender setup.
Triband is useful if you cant do ethernet backhaul but only if you really have a lot of network traffic, so constant simultaneous WAN/LAN activity and you want to ensure your going to get speeds over 500Mbps at all times.
If your an average user with a couple of computers and tvs streaming/gaming with a few IOT devices you will never saturate the dual band connection to ever see adverse effects. With the X60s as long as you have the proper clients you will see way higher connection speeds.
That being said this is still a good deal, but would have been better 6 months ago since this is pretty much on par with the deco M9 +. All this Wifi 5 gear is going to keep hitting rock bottom prices as its forgotten and Wifi 6 and 6E replaces it.

Is this good for a 2 story 2300sq house and basement?
Yes, my house is the exact same size and it's perfect. I'm hard wired, but you should still get great performance even if you're not wired because it's tri band.
I have my units in the middle of the house on all 3 floors.
So is this basically a router and two extenders that gives you triband connections?

Thanks OP. Trying to decide between these and the Deco X60 deal from Costco.

I have this set and it is good for up to about 400 Mbps. All 3 nodes are exactly the same. You can connect any of them to the modem and it supports wired backhaul too.
