I purchased two of these over the summer @ $1099 each for kid's remote learning. There is only one fan in this model, and it does run hot with very few apps open. When the fan ramps up, it sounds like a jet airplane, and that makes it impossible for my kids to stay focused on their work...

Costco has announced that they will be having a sale on Apple products on Thanksgiving. keep in mind Apple is supposed to release the ARM silicone MacBooks on November 17
Costco will match any price reductions within 30 days as long as you buy online (costco.com). If bought in the store, matching black friday prices is up to the store. (source: costco.com chat)

What's this ARM silicone you speak of. New to Apple ecosystem and might transition from Samsung.
ARM refers to the manufacturer of the silicone-based chips that Apple will be utilizing in their new devices. They currently use Intel chips in their MacBooks and IMAC.

I'm not sure this will apply to Black Friday deals
Is this the same one? Suppose to be $250 off on BF which will bring it down to $1050. Not sure if it will be hard to get online. Costco does not advertise their price in their holiday book however starting Nov 26 it says to search AppleHoliday

ARM is a architecture that has been around for decades. TSMC is the manufacture.
with almost 4 years of warranty from Costco (manufacturer + Costco + Costco Visa), I'm thinking about just getting from Costco with whatever deal they offer on Black Friday... at least that's what I'm thinking for now.
