Can't combine the sale and a trade-in because Samsung just nerfs the value of your trade-in. Stupid. I would've pulled the trigger on this if I could get the discount plus full value on my S5e.

  • If you care about having a ton of well-designed apps from many third-party developers that are targeted towards Ipad OS, then IPAD for sure. Android does not have any tablet-oriented apps at the moment.
  • If you care about a great after-market sales price for your device then iPad.
  • If you care about getting OS updates for the next 4 years then IPAD.
  • But if you want amazing specs on the cheap then maybe the S7. I hate that the iPad air 256 GB costs over $700. If you do the total cost of ownership analysis, the Ipad air will cost more for sure.

In my opinion: Stay away from Ipad air 64 GB. If you are considering 64 GB iPad AIR for basic stuff, then you are better off considering the 128 GB IPAD. A major flaw in IPAD OS is that you need to copy files into the iPad in order to edit them. They cannot be edited directly off external storage. If you are choosing a high-performance device such as iPad air then I am assuming you have needs that leverage the performance, if this is the case then 64 GB will become a bottleneck for sure. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your feedback, but it comes across a little biased:
  1. Android does have tablet oriented/optimized apps, just not as many as IOS
  2. The Galaxy Tab series typically has a great resale value (compared to other android tablets). iPads are becoming more widespread and the resale it not what it used to be
  3. Agree, IOS provides better updates over the long run, however Samsung has made some promises to keep these new Tab S's up to date
  4. Other advantages of this The S7 - The aspect ratio is great for media consumption, the 120hz screen is amazing (although not OLED like S7+), it comes with the stylus (rather than spending another $100 on the apple pencil), it is the top of the line Android tablet with excellent build quality.
In the end, it just comes down to how you plan to use the tablet and what eco-system you are more invested in.

Yes I agree with you. My feedback is a little biased for sure. Do you have any feedback on the best options for after sales support for this device ?

Between bestbuy , Costco , amazon and Samsung I see various types for extended warranty providers. Which is the best I wonder ?

With Apple there is only one good choice and that's Apple care. Interesting that the iPad Pro two year support costs twice as much As iPad Air .

I picked one of these up when Best Buy had the keyboard case half price and I'm really enjoying it. It is a nice upgrade from the Tab S4 I had for a few years. The iPad is a nice device, but I couldn't beat the value of the Galaxy. I personally prefer Android and have no issues running multiple apps in Dex mode. I know I'm in the minority there though as most people prefer iOS. I mostly use my tablet for office apps, note taking, ebooks, and media consumption and I had everything I needed on Android. The screen is great, the device is very snappy, the S Pen works very well for notes, and I really like the keyboard case if you are willing to spend extra for that. The iPad Air is very nice, however, to get it with the same memory, Apple Pencil, and keyboard case would have cost hundreds more and just wasn't worth it to me.

No. I work on a Windows PC and just didn't think I would enjoy that as a tablet experience. I also prefer consuming media like Disney+ and the like though a dedicated Android app. In Windows you are stuck using Chrome and it has limitations.

I know this deal is dead but could come back to life....so tempted to go with tab S7 but really know nothing about it. Had always been considering iPad pro, but it has me seriously re-considering. I do plan to do video 4k editing so anyone with that experience please chime in on which is better. Also what about other tablets from Microsoft, etc?

Also what did the OP mean by canceling order and get 10% discount. Aren't you taking a risk of it shipping before the cancellation goes through to take advantage of the 10% additional discount?
