At least one difference I know which is a dealbreaker for me, is that the new ones don't work with the nest temp sensors.

DON'T GET THIS MODEL - IT'S AWEFUL!!!! I bought this for my mom thinking it would have temperature controls similar to all the prior models. You change the temperature by sliding your finger along the back/side of the thermostat. They did away with the turn-knob like all of the prior models. It's not comfortable at all to use - I'm very disappointed.

According to the product features, the remote Nest temp sensors will work with this Nest thermostat:

"The Nest Thermostat can use sensors (sold separately) and your phone's location to check if you've left the house. Then it can set itself to an Eco temperature to save energy."

You're probably right. The PSE&G product description is probably wrong as they just copied the features from the Nest Thermo E, which could be used with the remote temp sensors. Strange that they would degrade the newer model without this desirable feature.

Please note that if you want to return this you don't get a full refund. You get around $30 back.
