Oh. I didn't realize this is out. We have allot of boost stuff. Wonder how much this adds
There are 1 intelligent hub, 4 motors, 1 color and 1 distance sensor included. The Powered Up components in this set are also compatible with the LEGO BOOST Creative Toolbox (17101), Droid Commander (75253) and others.

We have boost move hub, train hub, a few simple motors . . .
I'm wondering if EV3 might be better or more interesting, though not compatible.
How did they get this when no one else is carrying it yet?
It's been out for a couple weeks. I pre-ordered it from Walmart, but I received a Bed in a Bag instead of the Mindstorms set. It took weeks to get a refund.
This sale is perfect timing for me as I haven't reordered it yet. I'm just not sure I can pull the trigger. I've been wanting to do a Mindstorms set with my kids for years, but the Walmart experience has made me question whether I should really get this at all.

It was out on release day on Lego.com and I ordered when it came out, already got it last week. Though it was MSRP, there was an additional free promo set included, plus VIP points.
Want to buy this set too, but wonder if there would be a better deal close to Thanksgiving? Anyone has past experience in Lego sales?
Usually in a few weeks around Black Friday, there will be a "double VIP points" event which makes it more appealing. (usual VIP points is = 5%, but double = 10%). Sometimes these are limited to only certain lines like Star Wars.
You would not see a "sale" on this from Lego directly. Most other US retailers don't discount the large sets, except in rare clearance or "Lighting Deal" events.
Zaavi is a Europe seller and you will get a different package possibly from a different factory, shipped by plane internationally. Some report good experiences and some report slow shipping or damaged boxes. I believe their products are legitimate (not counterfeit) but again, they are in different retail boxes. I believe they are capitalizing on perhaps better supply chain in Europe, combined with favorable $ exchange rates which allow them to sell at what seems like a discount to US customers.
