Yes, just use a different email. Another thing (which is what I did). The Groupon voucher will have your new BJ's membership number - You can login into your existing BJ's account and simply update your membership number with the new number generated and continue using your existing account/email. HTH.
I have paid memberships at all three. Costco is by far the best (in my opinion) - their produce and meats are a cut above everyone else's. There are some items that Sam's carries that Costco doesn't, which is why I have both. I prefer the "Scan & Go" feature that Sam's offers (Costco doesn't). However, I've never had to wait in line at Costco - they are quick and easy. What helps is the cashier scan's your items in the cart and you just walk out after paying.
BJ's is smaller than the other two, so I spend less than a hundred bucks there. They have many of the items you find in Costco and Sam's. Their baked goods are different and not as much variety (and taste is not as good). Prices are comparable unless you catch a sale. I went last week and they were out of stock for many of the sale items I wanted. I generally only go to BJ's for sale items IF I am in town and close to one. The nearest one to me is 1.5 hours, so it holds less value for me to stop in every week or two. For $20, it's not really a bad deal; I see it as a lukewarm deal. I certainly wouldn't pay anymore than $20 for an annual membership.
So of the three stores in my order of preference: Costco, Sam's, BJ's.

Cancelled my membership. They were always out of everything i wanted to buy. Just not worth it for me. I didn't think the prices were that great either !!
Never been to BJ's. Are they as good as Costco or more like Sam's?
It really depends on the type of items you typically buy. It's definitely not as good as Costco for food selection and not as good as Sam's for commercial items (garbage bags, cups, etc). However, I just bought some Lifetime plastic folding chairs from BJs and saved a ton of money over similar ones (not exact) at Sam's Club. I don't have a Costco in my area so I have a membership at Sam's Club and BJs.

Is this worth it to just order online? Can I do that?
Personally, I prefer in-person BJs, but if online is your thing, you can get an online only membership for only $10/yr. So it's cheaper to do that if you know for sure you'll never visit a store. Just go to https://www.bjs.com/membershipEnroll and scroll down to "online membership access".
Beyond the relative price of the $20 groupon vs the $10 online only membership is the question of whether you'll actually buy stuff from the BJs website. I mean, you can visit the webite and see, but since $10 is the regular price, there is no pressure to sign up today.

No BJs is terribly bad & no match to Costco, I took the membership last week with 25$ offer & since then having issues with online orders. I ordered the michelin tires but BJs auto canceled it with reason "payment not authorised" try placing the order again I did as suggested & auto cancellation continued till my 4 different online order one after the other till the offer ended on the tires on oct 31. The customer support is even more worst after spending more than 6-7 hours with support executives on multiple sessions my issue is not yet resolved very disappointed with BJs at my first order itself & they don't even understand the problem also provide a new reference number of the chat with no resolution or tracking. In one call the tire department support personal told to place a fresh order which I did right away to price drop match but even that got auto cancelled after 1 hour. Also I tried all my different cards for payment so that BJs can't say that its payment issue on my part. Also shared the snapshots of my card statements showing the transactions on all my 4 cards, but BJs still need time to even refund my money on all 4 cards 😀😀😅
