The PlayStation 5 (PS5) is an upcoming home video game console developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Announced in 2019 as the successor to the PlayStation 4, it is set to launch on November 12, 2020 in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea, and on November 19, 2020 for the rest of the world.
The platform will launch in two varieties: a base model with an Ultra HD Blu-ray compatible optical disc drive, and a Digital Edition lacking this drive, serving as a lower-cost variant for consumers who prefer to buy games through digital download.

Is the disc drive one that much harder to get? I haven't been able to get a preorder in anywhere but I've had a chance for the digital a few times which I passed for others that would want it.
Sony and MS made it clear they're working to make enough consoles for every end user
There will be staggered releases, so keep checking between release day and Christmas.
Don't pay extra for resellers. There will be plenty by January when the scalpers try to return their unused inventory.
That will be the issue, every staggered release is going to filled with a**hole resellers taking the bulk of the releases. They need to not do staggered releases and instead do large drops of them so people who actually want them have access.
People have been saying for decades now to stop buying concert tickets, consoles, etc. from resellers so they won't make money and go away. They are still around for a reason, people will continue to pay marked up prices rather than just be patient.

You sir are correct!
Yeah i don't see how hard it can be to script this to wait while shows in stock and then proceed through a browser automation tool. Since no captcha is used what so ever. Smh
Simple captcha would solve it all but no one implementa
You do not know this. Every end user getting a console in the first few months after launch is not how this works. Nor has it ever.
What this person said. The only console launch in the last 15 years to have more supply than demand was the Wii U.
It's a fool's dream to think there will be any steady stock before end of the January at the earliest. Every launch it is promised, and every launch it doesn't happen.

With the pandemic I feel like it will be well into spring/summer before we see retailers having normal stock. Heck it could be the Wii all over again. Not that long ago it was hard to find a switch which is almost 3 years old!
