It's really not. In a bright room get the Vizio P series, the Sony 950H, or the Samsung Q80/90T. Samsung is the brightest, The Sony 950 is much brighter then this, and the PQX vizio is almost as bright as the Samsung.

Get a bright TV in a bright room that has some level of reflection handling. This TV is better then the 950h in dark room watching but is mediocre in a bright room when compared to those alternatives.
Thanks. I guess I will look at the other options mentioned.

Anyone have Direct Tv connected to this TV? If you do, do you have to turn the TV & TV box on & off multiple time to get it to work? I get the no signal message. I've changed the HDMI cable & ports also switched out Tv box and it continues to do it. I even factory reset the tv and again, same issue. I also made sure the Sony remote couldn't control the tv box and again same issue. Should I return it for another one or am I doing something wrong? I have had the TV for about a month now. I love the TV, but damn that issue is annoying as hell. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Believe I've seen where you have to play around with the HDMI Enhanced settings with this. Might Google around to check it out.

Thanks. I looked at this and the Q8DT at Costco and maybe it was the settings or the viewing angle but there seemed to be a significant difference in the two TVs. This one looked dull in comparison to the Samsung.
Yea I was looking at the Q80/Q8DT as well. I currently own a Sony 55" 4k from the 2012-13 era lol. It still runs like a champ. But it's terrible during day time as my living room is pretty open and has windows.

I read that for OLED to look best, you gotta have a dark room. That's why I decided to go with a Sony or Samsung. I don't game or anything, but want something that is 75"- 85".

Relative to price/function/requirement. No easy answer to your question accordingly.

Yes. But problems with clarity & bug issues.
Can you elaborate? I'm thinking of picking up the 85" on the 20th. Thanks

Set the RS232C control to Via serial port.
Note: This setting may affect the power consumption of the TV.
On the remote control, press the HOME button.
Select Settings → Remotes & Accessories → Via serial port.
Thanks, will try. Besides the random reboot, I also experienced A/V sync issue that resolved by turning A/V sync from auto to on, and now and then my cable interrupted (not sure if this is the tv issue or cable)

Sony is continuing to address firmware issues on these. The latest was released end of October to enable hdmi 2.1. In doing so they induced some bugs (constant reboots, hdmi 2.1 clarity issues, etc.). Some of the issues have temporary work around (reboots), while for others we await Sony to fix if possible with additional firmware updates.

They have a Sony 85" for <$2000, don't forget. Not same model, but getting a lot of interest in other posts.
It is the same model.

1 month for price match, 3 months for returns.
If they won't price match just return and repurchase

I've seen threads where those using ARC are seeing issues. I use Optical, and haven't encountered any.

Does anyone know if the 75" has more dimming zones than the 65" version of this TV?

If you buy it from Costco, you will get 5yr Sony warranty + 2yr additional warranty if you use Costco Visa credit card.
Sony has 1 year TV warranties. Are they running a promo?
