Finally, I was able to locate a store where a Target Phone specialist was able to do it; but it took about 45 minutes (mainly because of the busy shopping period).

Show the online ad regarding $50 rebate and confirm it with the sales person. Then:
1. You need a Tracfone friendly telephone (you can check this online)
2. Pick up a BYOD Sim pack ($1) from the Tracfone rack at the store
3. Pick up a plan card (I chose $20 30 day plan; again from the Tracfone rack)
4. Have the phone/sim/plan activated
5. Get the $50 Target Gift card.

I paid about $22,xx ($20+$1+tax,fees) and got the $50 GC

Who activated phoen? Target tech expert? And who processed 50 gift card? When i visited target they were mot able to activate my phone... if you can provide detailed steps

You have to find a "Target tech expert"; they are not in all stores. You have to find a target store with a "Huge" electronic department. Initially, I went to a smaller store and was directed to a big store.

First thing I did was to show the AD (target.com) regarding $50 GC and the Tech expert confirmed it.
I took my phone; picked up $1 Sim and $20 plan package from the Tracfone rack and gave it to the Tech expert who took care of everything from there.; he asked for my ID and Email address; When everything was finished, got my activated phone, $50GC.

I just did one line; Used a Tracfone locked iPhone SE.

Also, I happened to have a Rewards account and added this as a second line and got 10000 rewards (pending 30-60 days; will extend until I get the rewards); The 10000 rewards is discussed in another post at SD.

I went to two stores yesterday. Nobody knew anything about it and nobody could figure it out.

Oh, and this type of stuff:
"Why would they give you a $50 gift card for buying a $1 S-I-M card?"

Now it's up to $75 btw - 75 never-bucks you'll never get.

Target has contracted out their cell phone department to a independent company and these people are surly and outright liars. When Target was closing out their prepaid iPhone 6S last year for $74., I went to my local Target and got one no problem from a regular employee. Two weeks later, I decided to get another (2 actually), but local store was sold out. Went to another store and they had two "tech" (bad description) people there and when I attempted to buy the phones, they said I had to buy a minimum $65 plan with each. I asked if all of their prepaid phones required it and she said yes. I said I've purchased a few prepaid phones without buying a plan and she said that's the rules and if I didn't like it, shop somewhere else. I had my receipt from the first store and she ignored it. I politely left and asked for the store manager at front of store and explained to him what was going on. He walked back, told them to get the phones out and ring them up at the closeout price. Miss overweight, butch cut purple hair, neck tattoos, nasty personality said it has to be sold with a plan just like all phones. Manager walked over to register and rang them up at $74. each, no plan, and said sorry for the confusion while looking at her. I even held up my Target red card for her to rub it in for another 5% off. It was a sweet moment!
