"I bought this during the summer for $40 from Costco. It fit me perfectly with room to spare thanks to the adjustable ring. Surprisingly it fits my 8 and 6 year old children as well, again thanks to the adjustable ring. I ordered two more for them. The Red LED lights on the back of the helmet are long lasting and really bright. They can be set to stay on or blink. I still haven't figured out how to remove them to replace the batteries but so far the button cell batteries are still running well. Instruction manual says they slide downwards using two fingers but I couldn't do it. There are removable absorbent liners inside which can be cleaned and reinstalled. I am really impressed with it's comfort, lightweight, and design."

Bought the non MIPS for 15 dollars at Costco a while back. Supposed to be a temporary helmet for my wife. But she liked it and road with it regularly. Four weeks ago she wrecked at 21 mph. Hit ground hard. Lost consciousness for a minute. Broke clavicle and several ribs. But the helmet saved her life. Other then the loss of consciousness which such a hard blow can do- she had no follow up brain damage. Inspected helmet and the absorbing material fractured and did its job. Same stuff is in my pricey helmet. Anyway this off-brand is field tested and passed as far as I'm concerned.
$30 for MIPS is a crazy good deal. Normally a MIPS helmet would go for $70+. If people got it for $20 even better.

Anyone with first hand experience with this? Looks a little bulky, but for $30...

Also, I would not use for skateboarding/roller blading. Bike helmets are one time use items. Even if dropped, they are meant to deform after a single impact. Also the way the helmet sits on the head is different. Someone with more knowledge can chime in, but bike helmets are designed this way for a reason.
yah, i also remember this being 20$ at costco. last year it actually went down to $15 towards the end of its run. I mean, costco doesn't carry this in store since it's out of season, but if you can wait until spring this should be cheaper when they bring it back.

If you are in need of a helmet, get a MIPS helmet like this one. It will save your brain in a crash and it is worth ditching your old helmet for this one at this price.

You would be better off with an ASTM certified (multiple impact) helmet. This helmet is CPSC certified for a single major impact, which is typical for bike helmets.
