Yeah I have a 7 and it's a great case. I'll never be able to go back to a non "quite" case. It's almost tempting to upgrade so I can use the USB type C header on my Mobo, but I don't think I can justify 100 for a single port.

This is what I'm interested in. I've seen a lot of hobby style at home servers use fractal cases with success.

I believe you can put a CD ROM at the top. However, it looks like you would have to remove a 140mm fan from the pictures (or change the location). It may be limited to one CD ROM drive however.

Not positive since I have an older Fractal Design (R4) which I love.

Majority of everything is not only moving towards digital downloads but it already is. All PC games are now digital, photoshop software is a digital download. Basically, anything physical that you have for the PC like old PC games, etc. is now niche which means USB CD player accessories. Seems to be a tradeoff of having better airflow.
