Here was my comparison...... Moto Z2 Force vs Moto G Power vs Pixel 3a
The Mot G Power has been very impressive so far and it is right there battling with the Moto Z2 Force and Pixel 3a. I ran a comparison test between my Moto Z2 Force, Moto G Power and Pixel 3a and this is what I came up with.
Best user interface? The Pixel 3a and Moto G Power..... The Pixel 3a and Moto G Power are pretty much identical. They look and feel so alike. I would call it a DRAW as they are my favorite user interfaces (better than Samsung and IOS). I probably give slight edge to the Pixel 3a user interface but then Motorola adds some great gesture features that are so useful... Draw with Pixel 3a and Moto G Power.
Best performance? Tied with all 3..... In my test, I was opening over dozen apps and using them for all 3 phones and the Pixel 3a and Moto G Power. The Pixel 3a (geekbench 332 single core/1186 multi-core) and Moto G Power (geekbench 311/1402 multi-core) are really the same. I don't see any difference in real world performance from those two. Sometimes the Moto Z2 Force may open an app faster but it is a fraction of a second faster. It does have a quad HD screen though, outscores on geekbench and I am sure it will do better in demanding gaming with 835 processor but I am not into demanding gaming.
Best screen? It depends on what you value more.... The Moto Z2 Force is a quad HD amoled screen but at 5.5". The Moto G Power is 1080p IPS screen but at 6.4". The screen size difference is quite huge. The Moto G Power is still a beautiful screen.
Best camera? The Pixel 3a.... The Pixel 3a has an amazing camera and tough to compete with. The Moto cameras for both the Moto Z2 Force and Moto G Power are good too and underrated. I added GCAM for both Motorola phones and it improves the camera. I think the GCAM looks a smidge better with the Moto Z2 Force than the Moto G Power GCAM but both look great. With the Moto G Power selfie features and additional features, I think it is tied between the Moto Z2 Force and Moto G Power but the Pixel 3a is the real winner here.
Best speaker? Pixel 3a.... I give a slight edge to the Pixel 3a over the Moto G Power speaker because of quality but the Moto G Power gets louder. They both have much better speaker than the Moto Z2 Force. The Moto X Pure has a better speaker (loudness and quality) than all of them..... If you put on the JBL Soundboost 2 moto mod on the Moto Z2 Force, it blows them all away. This moto mod really makes movies/tv shows and games much more enjoyable.
Best battery life? Moto G Power.... No debate there.
Best hardware build and style? The Moto Z2 Force.... I like the design and the build as it feels like higher quality. I have 2 Moto Z2 Force phones. One with a Spigen case and one with a bumper and style shell and I think the style shells look the coolest of the bunch. I put a Spigen case on my Moto G Power and Pixel 3a so those phones all look and feel similar. Spigen cases provide protection, an improved grip and has a great look.
Best storage? Moto G Power and Moto Z2 Force...... The Pixel 3a at 64GB with no microSD support is my biggest gripe with my Pixel 3a. MicroSD support is important to me as I have a ton of pictures, videos and music files.
Updates? Pixel 3a with the security updates and software updates.
Other? Moto Z2 Force with moto mod compatibility. The JBL Soundboost 2 and the battery mod are quite useful. I have other mods and styles shells.
Overall winner? It all depends on what one values. If someone really values great battery life, big screen at a solid value, they probably prefer the Moto G Power. If someone prefers updates and awesome camera, they probably prefer the Pixel 3a. If someone prefers great hardware build, moto mod compatibility and a quad HD screen, they probably prefer the Moto Z2 Force. I think the "best bang for your buck" were the awesome slickdeals for the Moto G Power and Moto Z2 Force. You can't go wrong with any of these phones.
*** The HD Voice is awesome on the Moto G Power. I never had this HD Voice before with any of my other phones including the Moto Z2 Force and Pixel 3a. I swapped my Red Pocket (at&t) sim from the Pixel 3a to the Moto G Power and was shocked by the voice quality. I don't know why I didn't have it working with the Pixel 3a..... I have a locked Tracfone Moto G Power (Verizon sim) and that also gets HD Voice as well.
The screen is big and lovely. It has 3 different cameras on the back. There not the absolute best but give you the option for macro and wide angle.
It doesn't have wireless charging or NFC but those aren't a big deal to me.
So far, I really love it.

Expandable storage would be a nice feature but 64gb would likely be more than sufficient for them. Also like that it appears to work on any carrier

As for updates, Moto hasn't been as bad as you'd think. Even my Cricket Moto 7 Supra (Power) has gone from Android 8, to 9, and now Q (10). That will probably be the last update, but Android 7 won't be limited from anything until sometime in 2021, so this phone's software life will probably exceed it's reasonable battery life...4-5 years.

Thanks, fixed
i did do a tempered glass screen protector this is replacing a Moto G7 Power that she dropped and cracked. Reviews indicate a need for screen protection, fyi.

I had to go through 3 of the 4 just to get one decent install and its barely decent. wife says its fine, but I wouldn't be satisfied if it was my phone.
I've installed tons of screen protectors and feel pretty competent but these just won't sit flat around the edges
Lack of wireless charging on all but higher end Moto phones is annoying, but not a deal breaker. Having a Z phone with a wireless mod is a fair alternative, but definitely not as good as built-in.
