Yeah, it is better hardware on paper but from what I can gather, the bottleneck usually is the gigabit interface when it comes to 5400rpm vs 7200 rpm and unless you don't have faster than gigabit lan, it's just a louder drive. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I personally do agree that 7200rpm drives are overrated in almost any application, nowadays.

Yep, I was totally referring to using this as a nas drive.
Based on your use case, it wouldn't make a suitable option unless you plan to use it for onboard storage. This past summer I bought the 12TB WD Black (Xbox) external w/ 7200RPM to shuck it which I use for my Steam library where I'm able to take advantage of the drive's speed.
