Are these speakers good compared to a play 1? I like the bluetooth and cast so I can use them for youtube videos. I need some speakers for my workout room.

Yeah these are advertised as 75% louder than Google home so meant to be the next gen of the small vertical Google home, definitely not even close to the Max

Yes. But the max also costs 3x as much, so of course it sounds better.

This speaker has gotten great reviews and puts out a lot of sound. Two would give you a nice bookshelf setup with stereo sound if setup correctly.

I'm quite leary at this point of buying any google smart product. They ended play music and replaced it with you tube music, which took away a lot of functionality for free users. They just announced that free photo storage is going away and photos will count towards your 15gb quota. Who knows what they will clamp down next to squeeze out more money. The ride was fun while it lasted.
