One of the partners at my firm suggested I buy a pair of nice dress shoes. $250 to $300? Are you crazy?!? I was told that if I took care of them, didn't wear them every single day, used a shoe horn, etc. that they'd last me 5 to 10 years. Sounded like some corporate mumbo jumbo.
I eventually bought 2 pairs of $300 dress shoes with a gift card I won. I shined them, switched them out every other day, used a shoe horn, etc. Guess what? He was right! These super-expensive dress shoes were also just as comfortable as my tennis shoes, and they looked great! Lol
I know I'm going to get blasted for being long-winded. What do expensive dress shoes have to do with Sonos? Trust me - buy the Sonos One (the cheapest one) when it goes on sale for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Then compare it to one of those speakers that costs less than $99. Tell me it's not amazing by comparison! Superb sound quality combined with great design and software. You won't regret it, and, if you do, then just return it before the end of the year.

Because they made a commitment to offer it for essential workers until the end of 2020 when they rolled out the initial promotion. Seems like someone on their finance team got a little trigger happy. Considering the the goodwill nature of the promo and the positive press that it generated, it is definitely shady for them to not follow up on their promise.
