According to the recall, there is no risk of fire if you install according to instruction and used the correct screws. Again, this recall is not for this doorbell pro, it's for Ring doorbell second gen.

So if you are a Ring Alarm subscriber anyways, then the subscription is worth $100, so net cost of the doorbell is about $60.

I heard the doorbell pro works pretty well because it is wired but I remember reading on other threads that even though it is wired, it has an internal battery that goes bad and is not user replaceable. Is it covered in their lifetime warranty if you continue with have the ring protect plus service?

If I buy now, does the ring protect go into effect when I buy or can I activate it when I want. Moving in a few months and want to activate it then, not now. TIA

Ring Protect Plus Plan costs $100 a year making your Doorbell Pro $59.99. Look on ebay, they are selling for more.
