I saw those too and was concerned. The reviewers said that Ring replaced the the leaky ones that had bad seals around the solar panel top. I haven't seen that issue on any of mine. Time will tell, but if it happens, contact Ring right away for warranty replacement. Ring is good about quality control and I'm sure they fixed the glue used to manufacture these.

I've owned a number of different solar and low voltage path lighting over the years. The cheap ones die after a season, whether it's a low quality battery or garbage little solar cell. The pricier ones last a couple years but don't hold up to the intense summer sun. I can tell from the build quality of the Ring solar path lights that they'll last longer. I really, really like that they use standard 18650 lithium cells that are easily replaceable. Batteries go bad especially in extreme temperatures, so it's good peace of mind that I can replace them years later. I always hate throwing out a perfectly good electronic device whose only problem is a bad battery.
It's a good deal. It's not your fault they're overpriced to begin with. Smilie

It looks like the official ring site is also on sale as well.

https://shop.ring.com/products/sm...ight-solar

Plus one can probably stack the various discounts.

I tried, but unfortunately the Ring subscriber discount doesn't seem to apply to this sale.

What is the advantage of these lights over the regular pathway lights (non motion sensor) ? For Example: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hampt.../301712058

Do you really want to get notified about motion in the pathway ?

80 lumens vs 6. I've got the HD ones and going to replace them with these.

I believe it's helpful for people with battery powered cameras. The motion on the path light can tell the camera to start recording earlier. For people with wired doorbell cameras it's probably not very helpful.
