Since these aren't made to heat up food in the microwave, I don't understand the point of the vent lids other than to harbor bacteria, let gas out when storing spoiled foods in the fridge, and to hinder snapping of the lids together (which was a big part of their whole 'easy find' marketing concept.)

The box says that there are 2 vented lids included for 'splatter resistant microwaving' - which suggests to me that these ARE made to heat up food in the microwave. It's just a normal tupperware set, but it includes 2 new vented lids (not all of them are vented) for improved microwave usage.

Hi does anyone know if this is better or the one recently offered by target is better. Should I return the target one and get this instead?

I like the ones from target more. The Walmart one is less expensive with more pieces but they are more of the small ones. This is how they stack up.

Target Walmart

7-cup 1 0
5-cup 1 1
3-cup 2 1
2-cup 3 6
1.25 cup 3 5
0.5 cup 4 6

I personally never use my .5 cups and hardly ever my 1.25. But that's how they compare.

Also think 4 pieces out of 38 are actually useful for me. Unless you need containers for a few pieces of raisins or packing salad dressing. 90% of the container sizes are crapola!! Just make sure y'all read it twice.

I bought 3 sets from target and then when this went on sale picked up one set to compare. You lose the very large one that you get from target (can't remember if it was one or two) and then the next size down you get one of each instead (one deep and one shallow) instead of 2 and 1 with target. The smaller ones and the tiny one you get more with this one. The quality is the same with the difference that this set has a light color and target is dark green. I returned all the target sets and bought two extra sets from Walmart. Hope that helps

Thanks for the advice also I think I'll buy the Walmart one and compare them physically in front of me
