Does this need an additional power source, or is it powered via USB?

WD earned a lot from selling these garbage SMR drives.
All WD portable drives I owned from 1TB to 4TB are all dead except one, which has bad SMART status, within 2-3 years.

I've shucked easystores before but that was a 4tb 3.5" HD. Are hard drives that don't require the power adapter still shuckable and usable in PCs?

I would rank them in the order you listed.

However, the Passport and Easystore seem close, the only real difference I see is the encryption options on the passport. (I got this from the reviews I've read)

I personally only use the My Passport (PC backup) and Toshiba Canvio (On my PS4) drives

I am considering this unless I can find a 5TB my passport for $100.00

I'm not very familiar with the different hard drives from WD, Seagate, etc. I've had some passports still working good for Xbox one. What do you guys recommend?
