I have a similar little one from Bosch and it's surprisingly useful around the house. It's not a pro grade tool - the clamp works fine but it's not that sturdy and the lines aren't that bright. But, for homeowner use, it's great. The clamp can hook onto anything in the room (like the lip of a counter or even hang it off a light). The self leveling is fairly accurate, about the same as I could get off a 4' bubble level. It also makes a great way to double check hand hand held level.

Hint: when hanging pictures and writing on the walls, regular blue tape is ok, but the red laser doesn't show up well. Instead, use some white stuff:

I bought the Home Depot one last week bc it was on sale - how does this compare?

Just arrived in the mail yesterday. Used to hang a couple rows of picture frames on the living room wall. Works great. As an engineer I hate when things aren't spaced evenly or are unlevel. This did exactly the job I asked it to do. Will work great for hanging shelves in the garage as well.

Isn't this the same one that HD is selling for $30-$39?

Practically same. And both are mediocre at best. Horizontal line is very faint, not even close to 30' projection. And off-plumb use is annoying due to light blinking.

i have that one but no auto-shutoff override gets irritating with any big jobs and that the button is a slide button not push, so basically when it auto shuts off you're re leveling every time. pain with tile. i've had no issues with it but i'd buy one with override next time and still trying to figure out what to get.

Same question here.
I was looking up the official website yesterday when I saw this but I could not find this GLL-25-10 model on their web. Both are rated 30', so I guess one is older model than the other one but basically the same.

After buying a near identical cross level, I have two recommendations: Spend the extra $30 to get a green laser and try to source a clamp mount somewhere.

You might be able to get better red visibility by buying the filtered safety goggles, but a green laser will be brighter and sharper overall (definitely wear eye protection).

The clamp mount is a must. I bought a 48" tripod to try and compensate, but as soon as you get 15° off axis vertically, the level has no way to right itself. This is the "blinking" mentioned in previous comments.
