Using that logic I consider iTunes as cash. I forked over $96 for $120 cash! What's my % savings Mr. Wizard?
if only you can use that cash to buy more apple gc at target. Your % saving will be infinite. So why are we even talking about % saving. Smilie Smilie

There are 2 big differences:
1. 120hz vs 60hz (air)
2. FaceId vs touchId on button (air).
Sorry I realize now I need to be specific - was talking about Macbook Air vs Macbook Pro!

And therein lies the problem with the logic. I miss Walgreens iTunes deals when I could roll Wags gc!

20% rebate/cashback is different than 20% discount.
I agree. But neither of them is 16.67%.

1 It's about refresh rate. Nothing about brightness.

You seem passionate on your point but that is not correct. You arent getting $20 back you are paying $100 for an aitem worth $120. Hence the discount is 20/120. 0.1667 or 16.67%
My friend.
How much did your credit card get charged? $100
How much did you get back (consider target card is as good as cash)? $20
So how much did you pay? $80
Please tell me if this is not the scenario.

If your credit card got charged $120
And you got back $20
So you effectively paid $100
Now that would have been 16.67%
Which is not what's happening here, right.

I think you're confusing it when you're considering target card as not cash, while the comment assumes they're the same.

If you buy something for $100 and the cashier hands you back $20 because there's a special promotion, you don't say that you got $120 worth of goods for $100. You got $100 product for $80.

Can you give one example of how the end result is different on your pocket?

Well, then it's up to your usages. Emails, youtube, netflix, web browsing -> air.
Video editing, software development, rtc -> pro.

20% bonus on an item you pay $100 on, same as the 5% cash back I will get from discover or $5

Your math doesn't add up.

Example, you want to buy something for 600 on apple store.

You buy 6 apple gift cards from target, and you pay 600 from your cc.

Now you get back 120 usd target gift cards and from discover you get 30 usd.

So you pay 600 and get back 150 which is 25% back from your original purchase.
