Just to answer some common questions I keep seeing:
- Each card needs to be purchased as a separate Target transaction in order to get the Target card bonus for each Apple card.
- You can use the same Target account, no need to make separate accounts (unless you are trying to circumvent the new limit that seems to have been added today).
- You will get an order confirmation email immediately.
- Apple cards will arrive via email several hours to a day later. The email has a link to Target's fulfillment site which will then take you to the actual gift card code. From there you can either manually copy/paste the code or simply click the link and it should open up the proper program on your computer or phone in order to load the card to your Apple account.
- You will receive another email at some point that informs you that the email with the Apple gift card was sent. This email doesn't have any value.
- Target bonus cards will arrive a day or so later via email. I've found that they generally arrive a few hours after you receive the email I mentioned in the previous point above. Sometimes the cards will already be loaded into your Target wallet in the Target app, but the majority of mine have not been preloaded. The email will contain a link that will load them into your Target account. The Target app also has a button that will allow you to combine all the cards into a single balance for easier use.
- The Apple gift cards will trigger the bonus offers on the Apple site (for instance, buy an Apple TV with the Apple gift cards you bought from Target and Apple will send you a $50 Apple gift card).
- You can use the Target gift cards to buy other items at Target that have a gift card bonus offer, but you can't use them to actually buy more gift cards. For instance, you can buy two packs of laundry detergent which has a $5 Target gift card bonus offer and you'll get the $5 bonus gift card, but you can't use the Target gift cards to buy more Apple gift cards.
- You can load up to $2000 in total balance to your Apple account. Additionally you are only allowed to load $2000 total per day. So even if you buy something using your Apple balance you'll still need to wait a day before you can load more gift cards into your balance.
- You can apply up to 8 gift card codes during checkout at Apple.

Apparently, Best Buy will offer the same deal (BB GC) during BF.

Edit: some idiots have been replying to me on how they like this deal better than BB's since GC is more useful to them. I couldn't care less about your situation. I'm just letting people know about BB's deal.

Assuming you're treating the $20 like cash, you're getting 16.67% off, not 20%.

20% would be if they were only charging you $80 for a $100 gift card. You're paying $100 for $120.

Edit: Unless you're including the Red Card 5% off, in which case it's more like 21%

Yep, from the Wiki:

How to redeem more than 8 Apple Gift Cards: wingroks

Yes, if you order through Apple.com online and pick up in store, the maximum giftcards that can be applied to the order will be 8 only. However, one way to work around that is added the giftcard into your AppleID account first www.apple.com/redeem - maximum amount you can have under your AppleID is $2000, then you can use the giftcards for the rest.

In able to add balance, either use apple.com/redeem and follow the steps or

go to Apple.com --> select shopping cart --> account --> "your apple balance account" --> Manage balance --> add money to balance/ redeem gift card voila!
Once you have added the giftcard into your "apple balance account" (reminder: only $2000 max), during the ordering process, make sure to sign in to your AppleID, and it will show that you have *insert how much credit you got here* and hit "apply", the credit will then apply to your order.

Scenarios 1:
Total order is $2200. Apply $2k credit from previous steps, then you "pay with Apple giftcard" to order…enter giftcard pin…and done!

Scenarios 2:
Total order is $2900 total. Apply $2k credit from previous steps, then "pay with Apple giftcard" to order …entering $100 gift card pin 8 times… pay $100 with debit/credit/paypal.

NOTE: you can use however many giftcard in Apple store to buy products if you want… however keep in mind, all shopping required reservations since they only allowed limited amount of people inside the store at once due to the pandemic.
NOTE **: Yes, you can use Apple gift card for anything, to pay for AppleCare+, books, apps, subscriptions, pay for accessories, etc. "treat it like cash" and yes, it has no expiration dates.
Apple employees have a separate website which allows to use 8 GCs. There is no Apple ID for this website. Do you know how to get around to use more than 8GCs?

cool thanks. were there still a ton of apple gift cards left at your target? planning to go tomorrow because online orders are taking forever/eventually may get cancelled.

There were few $100 nomination, the rest are all in 50s, 25s, etc. If you don't mind practicing scanning, 2 x $50 will also served our purposes... adding the gift cards to your account however...will be a pain... luckily I have two nephews and they see scratching the back of the Target GCs some sort of competition to see who can finished first. LMAO

careful with physical gift cards. In san jose (and another person on SD in the same city) our gift cards for apple were already redeemed when we tried to redeem it. since the new return policy we were at a lost
Dang! How could that be possible? Unless the Apple's gc was tampered with already right?

Back in my days working at Apple Retail and Genius Bar... you could purchase a $500 giftcard and then use smaller giftcards to pay for them, essentially combined together... you can only do that through EasyPay or should I say Isaac now... not sure how it would be now... pretty sure you can still do it (in store only). Or if you happen to work at Apple retail stores currently, you can do a test run, scan a giftcard put $500 and then see what options it give you to pay with. As an employee, you should partner up with your store leader first if Isaac allows you to do that... for a normal customer... if you purchase 1 $500 it's ok, but 2x you will probably get more questions asked from the specialists to prevent gift card scam, etc. just for your own goods. I have seen few times people were asked to buy apple gift cards to free their "jailed" sons/daughters, etc. just fyi Smilie

Purchased 5 around 11am today. I don't shop at Target often, therefore I have no red cards. Just a normal account. Purchased all 5 in the same account. You have to do 1 at a time. Means, $100 gc to cart, check out, order completed, add another $100 to cart, check out, so on so forth.
Received all my 5 apple gift cards around 9pm. Btw, I'm on EST. So abt 40 mins ago. Received 3 target $20 gift cards, expect 2 more coming any time.

I want to buy a cheap but larger storage ipad. Currently thinking about $429 ipad 128...
And I did this gift card thing.

Now I see Sam's club have the ipad on sale for $399.98
Walmart has it on $395.

Compared to apple.com's $429.

Sam's has cashback $9.6 for 100 spent on sam's pickup from drop app...that $38.40 on cb ~~~
I am trying to do my math right now, where I can save the most....

Apologies if this info has already been posted. We waited 10 hours after receiving the "good things are coming your way" email. We then called gift card order support at 1-800-544-2943. We were told regardless of what we may have seen about seeing our gift cards in a period of time, it takes up to 24 hours. They also said that a lot of banks cancel or deny the charges if it triggers their fraud detection rules. I know a lot of phone scams request gift cards so I thought it made some sense. Hope this was helpful. And to the person that asked if it was better to purchase Apple stock than gift cards... very funny, lol.

But the point of buying the Apple gifts cards is it's like getting a 20% or more if you have a red card. Effective Apple price would be $343.20. Less if you used a red card. Or am I missing the point? I suppose you could save the cards for Apple items that are seldom if ever discounted.
