If you pay with red card, you'll see a $4 discount, i.e. $96 total.
This is how Target normally does promotions with gift cards.
Here is the breakdown:
1. $80 for the Apple gift card (5% red card discount)
2. $20 for the Target gift card (no red card discount)
So, using Discover 5% or Paypal+Chase 5% is better
How to redeem more than 8 Apple Gift Cards: wingroks
Yes, if you order through Apple.com online and pick up in store, the maximum giftcards that can be applied to the order will be 8 only. However, one way to work around that is added the giftcard into your AppleID account first www.apple.com/redeem - maximum amount you can have under your AppleID is $2000, then you can use the giftcards for the rest.
In able to add balance, either use apple.com/redeem and follow the steps or
go to Apple.com --> select shopping cart --> account --> "your apple balance account" --> Manage balance --> add money to balance/ redeem gift card voila!
Once you have added the giftcard into your "apple balance account" (reminder: only $2000 max), during the ordering process, make sure to sign in to your AppleID, and it will show that you have *insert how much credit you got here* and hit "apply", the credit will then apply to your order.
Scenarios 1:
Total order is $2200. Apply $2k credit from previous steps, then you "pay with Apple giftcard" to order…enter giftcard pin…and done!
Scenarios 2:
Total order is $2900 total. Apply $2k credit from previous steps, then "pay with Apple giftcard" to order …entering $100 gift card pin 8 times… pay $100 with debit/credit/paypal.
NOTE: you can use however many giftcard in Apple store to buy products if you want… however keep in mind, all shopping required reservations since they only allowed limited amount of people inside the store at once due to the pandemic.
NOTE **: Yes, you can use Apple gift card for anything, to pay for AppleCare+, books, apps, subscriptions, pay for accessories, etc. "treat it like cash" and yes, it has no expiration dates.
I dont know if this was posted in this thread or not, but people that have instantly fraudulently claimed Apple GCs, this class-action lawsuit may help you out: https://topclassactions
Obviously one customer reached out to ABC news, and Target then refunded him the money. We should make this public. Target should not discriminately process customers' cases just because we didn't go to the media.

There is a 20 transaction limit on the RedCard when used at Target.com. In other words, you can place 20 online orders on Target.com per 24-hour period. There is no limit on the in-store purchase. Unknown if this limit apply to the RedCard with the MasterCard logo.

- Each card needs to be purchased as a separate Target transaction in order to get the Target card bonus for each Apple card.
- You can use the same Target account, no need to make separate accounts (unless you are trying to circumvent the new limit that seems to have been added today).
- You will get an order confirmation email immediately.
- Apple cards will arrive via email several hours to a day later. The email has a link to Target's fulfillment site which will then take you to the actual gift card code. From there you can either manually copy/paste the code or simply click the link and it should open up the proper program on your computer or phone in order to load the card to your Apple account.
- You will receive another email at some point that informs you that the email with the Apple gift card was sent. This email doesn't have any value.
- Target bonus cards will arrive a day or so later via email. I've found that they generally arrive a few hours after you receive the email I mentioned in the previous point above. Sometimes the cards will already be loaded into your Target wallet in the Target app, but the majority of mine have not been preloaded. The email will contain a link that will load them into your Target account. The Target app also has a button that will allow you to combine all the cards into a single balance for easier use.
- The Apple gift cards will trigger the bonus offers on the Apple site (for instance, buy an Apple TV with the Apple gift cards you bought from Target and Apple will send you a $50 Apple gift card).
- You can use the Target gift cards to buy other items at Target that have a gift card bonus offer, but you can't use them to actually buy more gift cards. For instance, you can buy two packs of laundry detergent which has a $5 Target gift card bonus offer and you'll get the $5 bonus gift card, but you can't use the Target gift cards to buy more Apple gift cards.
- You can load up to $2000 in total balance to your Apple account. Additionally you are only allowed to load $2000 total per day. So even if you buy something using your Apple balance you'll still need to wait a day before you can load more gift cards into your balance.
- You can apply up to 8 gift card codes during checkout at Apple.

Edit: some idiots have been replying to me on how they like this deal better than BB's since GC is more useful to them. I couldn't care less about your situation. I'm just letting people know about BB's deal.
20% would be if they were only charging you $80 for a $100 gift card. You're paying $100 for $120.
Edit: Unless you're including the Red Card 5% off, in which case it's more like 21%

BUYER BEWARE
-------------------------------------------------------
Long time lurker - one of my times posting, but this has gotten me so mad....
I bought over 10pcs of the $100 apple gift cards and only 1 of them worked. The rest were already redeemed before I returned home to use them. Some data points:
- Similar to Yong0644, I purchased them in a Target store in the greater San Diego area. Others were scammed in NJ and San Jose based off what I can tell
- I called Apple. The rep was able to check the value of other cards without ripping the seal. Same situation as others. Money is gone so Apple can't do anything or provide additional info due to legal reasons. A case was created for investigation.
- I called Target Relations (1-800-275-2273 --> Option 4 then 3 then 2. Was told I needed to speak to a "gift card specialist" but they're closed for the night. Will call again tomorrow
- As far as I could tell, the normal shopper will not be able to tell the difference between the ones that have been tampered with. Looking back at them, they all look geniune.
- Planning on filing a police report at the store if they cannot refund tomorrow
- Tried finding all the other mentions of this scam/fraud in the thread and quoted them below as additional data points. I'm sure I'm missing people though.
Honestly, I fully blame Target. My suspicion is a group of people at Target are accessing the codes and re-sealing the gift cards.
Question for the community:
1) I saw some posts about the online codes as well. Does anyone have trouble redeeming the $100 Apple gift card if sent electronically?
2) Any help from those affected would be greatly appreciated. This is only the surface and I'm sure many more are affected who don't even realize they've been robbed.
Thanks in advance,
For all 7 of the $100 cards I purchased, I checked the balance to make sure they were active before I left the parking lot. When I got home to redeem them, they've already been redeemed. I spoke to Apple for hours and they found out it was very clear that it had been redeemed under fraudulent apple ID accounts and used to make purchases ALREADY. My belief is that a scammer, either internal to Target or external, has recorded down the PIN numbers on these UNACTIVATED gift cards, purchased tamper proof stickers to put back on the gift card, put these gift cards back on the retail shelves, then wait for the customers to purchase them & do the activation for them. Then they can easily redeem them to an account. It only took a few hours between when I purchased the gift cards and when I was at home trying to redeem them to have these balances liquidated.
Apple could not reverse this balance being redeemed because the scammers already used it to make purchases. Target cannot help and says I need to work with Apple. So now I am out $700.
There were several mentions of this happening in a similar thread on slickdeals, found here. Buyers BEWARE. Please be careful. Give this a like if you can so others can see that this is a serious issue.

Other 14 gift cards was able to redeem in my account which I got from Mission Valley store. 800-544-2943 is target gift card department number.
They looked at all my "sealed" Apple Gift Cards and they said that they look tampered with, and I told them where in the store I got them from. They pulled all Apple Gift Cards from that wall and checked a few and said they also look tampered with.
I'll be following up with Apple and Target with both of my cases. What a real pain. Worst experience ever!
