First time for a target purchase i am seeing "preparing" even after 24 hrs
If all this was getting done by someone for end of day sale on apple website, it could have been huge loss.
Just got my orders.. 36 hours.

Can you use family purchase sharing to combine 2 accts balances for a single purchase?
I think the account balance of the person making the purchase is used first, then the payment method of the "organizer" is used. If the regular member who has a balance makes the purchase, I think his account balance would be applied first, and the remaining amount would be charged to the family organizer (his credit card, or his balance if he has one).

I was able to purchase $100 Apple Gift Card at the store. During checkout, using the target app wallet, I was able to apply $20 gift card. So the total paid w red card was $76.

Yes I was able to combine all to 1! Ordered 15!
Can you share more details on how to combine the cards into one? After combined, can you still use that card number and pin at check out? I don't want to load all the balance to my Apple ID since I didn't see any option to pay with Apple ID balance at Apple.com check out.

How many can I use in one single transaction? Am I missing something or is this really 20% off on an iphone ??
You could do up to $2000 on the Apple Balance and pay the rest with either regular gift cards (up to 8) plus a credit/debit card for any potentially remaining balance

Went in person and did separate transactions via self checkout
How did you add the $20 target gift card during self-checkout? I didn't know they allow you to purchase gift cards by the self-checkout.
