I was looking for a decent phone deal that doesn't require a change in service or a trade-in. I'm on a grandfathered 15GB AT&T shared plan, which works well for me, and all of our phones are pretty old. So I couldn't benefit from any of the previously posted deals since:
- I don't want to switch to an Unlimited plan
- I don't have any sexy phones to trade-in
- I don't want to deal with bill credits
Today, I bought a Samsung A71 5G for $9.97/mo for 30 months. It required a line that is eligible for an upgrade, but it didn't ask to change my service. The upgrade fee is $30, but I will call to see if AT&T can void it since I have a corporate discount. I paid sales tax on the discounted price. Overall, I think it's a good deal for those who don't need the latest and greatest phone every year and don't need the bells and whistles of the Unlimited plan.
Here are the phone specs from

Service: Eligible postpaid voice & data service is required and extra.
Min. $60/mo. before discount for new customers.
Existing customers can add to eligible current post-paid plans which may be less."
Looks like you're agreeing to another 30 month service contract also. $60+/month plan for new customers.
Update Edit: The only signature program plan you can get with this deal is their unlimited elite plan.
Update #2: Grandfathered unlimited plans (2015 - 2017) are not eligible either. AT&T forces you to upgrade your plan to one of their current ones.
I give up. Neither AT&T device is eligible.

Good point! I wasn't looking specifically for a 5G phone. Just a solid mid-range with decent specs. But good to know.

Nexus 5 and Samsung galaxy so were both plastic phones with wireless charging. METAL phones are not able to wirelessly charge. Plastic is perfectly compatible of wireless charging. Sonicare toothbrushes are plastic and use wireless charging.
