Still going to wait for the Costco one with 2070 for $60 more.

This will be $1200 https://www.costco.com/.product.1478573.html

Is this good for business user/power user for Excel/Office, Visio and such? COSTCO has MSI GF75 with bit lower hardware for $700 (I5 processor and 8GB ).

Trying to decide between the COSTCO $700 MSI GF75 vs Dell 17 3000 (dell is about $650 but with integrated video card .. and DVD drive which i don't like - why add to weight if you will never use it)

IMHO, this MSI would be overkill for MS office applications. The Dell would be fine, but you could probably still find a 15.6" in the $400-$500 range or even lower and pair it with a nice monitor to handle those tasks and still be under $650. Minimum for Visio is i3-1005G1 with 6GB Memory and integrated GPU.

Laptops in general aren't for coding as the more code you can see on screen the more efficient you can be, so you want the biggest screen you can get, with vertical capability.

Yep, and it sucks that laptops are 1080p now as the default ... even for many "gaming" laptops. I bought an Alienware specifically because it came with a QHD screen. If you code, a 1080p screen is weak sauce.

Got mine yesterday and love it.

Runs really hot when it downloads and installs it's updates (into the 90's C) but then cools down after a few power cycles and the thermals melt in.

Solid construction and an awesome screen.

Can't believe this post hasn't gotten more traction.

I don't have a costco membership and the closest one is 40 minutes away or I would have tried for the 1TB + 512G ssd with the RTX 2070.

I will NEVER buy an MSI laptop cause they all have horrible and impractical keyboards.
All special characters that are used with the Shift key NEVER light up with the backlit key. They all stay dark.
They suck.
When I cannot see the proper character I cannot type properly and accurately.
Before you buy an MSI junk just test it and see what a garbage design they have.
Stupid MSI must update and redesign their horrific, lousy and terrible keyboards.
Yes, you can customize many keys with different colors, but what is the use if all these special characters do not light up for you to see.??????

I will NEVER buy the garbage and crappy MSI brand laptops.
They have 22 keyboard keys that NEVER light up and you cannot view these keys properly, specially when you work in a little dark room.
This stupid manufacturer should fix their horrible backlit keyboard keys and make sure that ALL keys' characters do light up.
The 22 keys are what you use with the Shift key, all these 22 characters appear on the top part of the 22 keys and are used with the Shift key. I cannot type properly if I cannot see the keys' character.
For example.....all the characters that are used with the Shift key on the second row NEVER light up and are not visible (not lit) to be able to type properly.
I returned my horrible piece of garbage after finding out their horrible backlit fault.
A very big shame on horrible MSI.
