On top of that, UberEats charges a 15% "service fee" but that goes straight to the corporate office. It is NOT a tip for either the driver NOR the food preparers. They also add on a delivery fee sometimes - ranges from 50 cents to 1.49.
I used UberEats once because I had received a gift certificate for it. The delivery person was fine, and I included a small tip with the order, but gave her more when she delivered, to be sure she got a decent tip.
I will never use UberEats again because of all the 'fees'. I also don't really like someone else handling my food outside the restaurant staff..

Whether they charge you a direct service fee, the restaurant passes along the cost they pay as increased item prices, or both, this is the cost of having one service that can deliver food from dozens of places to you. The economics are entirely different than a restaurant having dedicated delivery drivers (like pizza chains or local places that have a limited delivery area).
There are entirely valid reasons to not use any of these service (I personally don't use UberEats for service-related reasons), but them charging money for providing a service should be expected.

Why not call it an "Uber fee". (An ironic, but accurate, title.)
I primarily object to the company being misleading. They don't clearly explain anywhere on their website who gets this money - but former Uber drivers have made it clear on other websites that it doesn't go to them, and restaurants have made it clear that they don't get it. If people think the fee goes to the driver, then they're not going to tip the driver as much - so the driver's are harmed by this misleading title.
UberEats also doesn't make explicit ANYWHERE that they've increased the prices of food items over what the restaurant itself charges.
I will choose not to use Uber. I don't support companies that mislead people.
