If you have enough budget, spend another $40 and get a V8 at Target.
If you are looking for a midrange cordless vacuum with limited budget, go to Walmart and get a Shark rocket pro for $140.
Both products mentioned above are better options over dyson V7
I owned a Deik brand stick vacuum from Amazon. The battery failed within a year (I do want to admit that it was left on the charger and that is not advised). Though the battery was not replacable on the Deik but is with Dyson. Dyson offers a better warranty as well. I would check warranties and battery type/replaceability. The performance of the Deik was great and seemed to handle our high pile carpet more easily due to being heavier. The V7 will struggle on the high pile and likes to kick up due to lack of weight in the head. Deik cannot be found for some reason on Amazon but I would use this as an example of what you may experience. The no name amazon sticks may work great but the extra 60-80 bucks will be worth it for the warranty and replaceable parts on the Dyson.

Anyone can compare this vac to the $100 ones from Amazon?
