It seems like the single line user who has actually realized they don't need unlimited data is the most screwed over with all the phone companies, not just Verizon.

Do note that Walmart's MSRP is $80 higher. It's $200 off that price, not the price that everyone else has.
For example:
iPhone 12 mini 64GB for Verizon is $779 at Walmart (vs. $699.99 at Best Buy)
iPhone 12 64GB for Verizon is $879 at Walmart (vs. $799.99 at Best Buy)
Instead of $200 off, it's $120 off.
Still a good deal if you don't have anything to trade-in. Walmart also has these trade-in values: https://www.walmart.com/cp/apple-...s/5116563, which aren't that great unless you have an iPhone X or newer (actually, FaceID iPhones). If you have an iPhone X or later to trade-in, Best Buy has the better deal since there's no bill credits unlike Verizon's trade-in. Also, it doesn't look like you have to switch to Verizon's current "Unlimited" plan like you have to do with Verizon's.
If not, this one is it for me.
