While this doesn't match perfectly I wanted to give you my comparison repost of hiking shoes
My Review of some shoes when I want to REI
1. Hoka Speedgoat Mid 2 GTX - are insanely awesome, light weight and comfortable BUT $200. Seriously in a league of its own. A+
2. Merell Moab Ii - which some dude mentioned. Very nice, comfortable for $120. A little heavy but not bad.
3. Believe it or not Timberland Maddsen Mid WP at $99. REALLY comfortable and light weight. Probably wont last nearly as long as the MOABs. Pretty sure it was lighter than the Moabs
4. Columbia Newton Ridge Plus II - disappointed by how uncomfortable they are and the weird fit on size 12. Garbage shoe
The Timberland's destroyed the Columbia Newton shoe and was on par with the Merells

I heard like half a size smaller than your original shoe size sneakers....
I read this in one of the reviews "I would recommend sizing up a half size from your normal Merrell hikers. Since the padding is thicker, it just leaves less room for your actual foot."
No body cares about doctors.... Sad but only nurses get the discounts. Not doctors even if your also on front lines. Go figure.
Discounts for well paid medical professionals is strictly a pr move and makes no sense IMO. Why not a discount for veterans, minimum wage workers, or someone who actually hikes/backpacks?

Well there are quite a few medical residents around, and they are paid less than nurses and other healthcare professionals (PT, OT, respiratory, etc).

Exchanges appear to be free (ie, wrong size) but returns are $5. Still cheaper than paying to return them via Priority Mail, so worth the gamble
