what is the base unit that is being referred to in the QA's?

Looking at mounting this in place of the traditional flood light & want to benefit from the live camera viewing.

I read it also uses Flash Plug-In for live streaming. If thats the case, this halts the purchasing click.

You mean the Homebase? It's the unit most of the other battery powered Eufycams store their videos on. This floodlight does not do this and stores it on local memory inside the unit.

They have updated it. I have flash disabled in Chrome and can view my cameras.

Also, reddit thread discussing this:

Adobe Flash (Flex) is end of life Dec 31, 2020. Most vendors have already switch over to HTML5. At this point no one should still be using flash.

This seems to go on sale a lot, are there talks about a newer version soon? (2k 4k)
How does the white model hold up to the sun, will it turn yellowish in a year or two?

My questions exactly, what's so good about the 1080P models when the 2k versions have the same if not better features than the latter? Obviously price is a factor, but the PRO 2K's are pretty sweet and get a lot of good reviews. What am I missing? (serious)

This or the ring floodlight... I'm not vested in the Ring ecosystem yet, considering it or this or a similar cam.

Eufy over Ring any day except the home alarm. There's no real competition to Ring for home alarm systems.

Ring has a subscription fee associated with storage. Eufy doesn't - this cam has been up for me for just over a month and is EXCELLENT. Perfect service, easy setup, I would definitely buy again if I needed another.

can also consider about the Feit one currently on sale from Costco if wireless is not a requirement... personally prefer continuous over event (motion based) recording, I got the the feit one to try and loved it so much and ended up buying 2 more to cover more sides of the house

This is a very good price. I have two. They are great. Plenty of output from the LED's and clear video. Two issues: if turned off at night by the light switch, the LED lights don't default back to "on," which drives my wife nuts because she wants it to act like a regular light. Additionally the intelligent motion sensor doesn't distinguish between people and shadows, so there are a lot of recordings when it's windy.

I have a old wired security that I pay 30 per month for a decade. Debating moving to wireless n dumping the 30/month service. Which system is best for all. I'll need about 10 sensors 2 keypads
